As the name suggests, family-owned Pump Street Bakery makes delicious bread but also small-batch chocolate, handmade on its Suffolk site using beans carefully selected from farms and co-operatives in Central and South America, the Caribbean, Madagascar and newest addition: the Solomon Islands. With its  subscription service, you get a box of four 70g bars every two months; two single origin bean-to-bar options and two limited-edition creations, along with tasting notes to help you appreciate the nuanced flavours. Our foursome included a Honduras 68 per cent bar with coffee beans from Nicaragua roasted by Workshop Coffee in London, a perfectly balanced post-dinner treat. Another stand-out was the single-origin 70 per cent  bar from Granada, with distinctive berry and floral flavours.  All come packaged in Pump Street’s practical resealable pouches, so you can savour the bars over your eight weeks. This is one for foodies who want to take their chocolate appreciation to the next level.
